Friends of the Zoo members invite the community to join them from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, for the zoo’s annual Family Fun Day.

“We’re updating the tiger enclosure and Family Fun Day is kicking off our fundraiser to help with the tiger enclosure as well as other habitat improvements for our critters-in-residence at the zoo,” said spokeswoman Nina Bremer.

There will be fun and games, face painting , and — at 11 a.m. — a performance by Energy In Motion, a Fitness &Dance Co with Demo Kids. At 1:30 p.m., the Petting Zoo will open.

All day, ono grinds will be available for purchase and will include hot dogs and chips by the Friends of the Zoo, the facility’s nonprofit auxiliary support group, coffee and smoothies by Ai Opena Espresso, sodas by Pepsi and refreshing “Bruddah Pops” to enjoy.

“All net proceeds will go toward the much-needed habitat improvements at our beautiful Pana‘ewa Rainforest Zoo &Gardens,” said Bremer. “So be there, or be square, and we’ll see you at the Zoo.”
